A House Divided

Today after much stuffing and celebrating we prepare for the annual clash of two sports powerhouses, Florida State and Univeristy of Florida. These games have always been a great rivalry. However, with one son attendinging Florida State and a daughter and a daughter-in-law as Gator graduates, it does get to be a tad crazy here.

Today, we will be staying at our daughter's home to watch the game. So, it may be a little difficult to fully support the Seminoles, but my heart will be with both teams and I only pray for it to be a good game.

Obviously the Gators have the much better team on paper. They have destroyed nearly every opponent they have encountered over the past several weeks with scores north of 40 points and one that looked more like a basketball score than a football score with 70 points.

Still the Seminoles have been playing well lately. Their defence keeps improving and they are coming off the big Maryland win last week so who knows.

Whichever way it goes, one child will be thrilled and talking trash to the other for at least a year.

2008 Annual Turkey Outreach

On November 22nd, the 13th Annual McLean Bible Church/Adopt a Turkey Thanksgiving Outreach Project was held throughout the greater Washington DC area! The project provides Thanksgiving Dinners to less fortunate families in Washington, Virginia, and Baltimore. Turkey Outreach is a ministry of Frontline and McLean Bible Church in connection with Adopt a Turkey that works with close to 50 organizations to feed 7,500 families each Thanksgiving. McLean Bible Church partners with everyone from faith-based ministries and shelters to Easter Seals and county services to accomplish this task.

Below are a couple of videos that highlight this worthy endeavor.

Happy Thanksgiving.
